THE MANY BENEFITS OF GINGER
A long-time friend reminded me recently that I had recommended that she take Ginger to
help with her nausea caused by radiation/chemotherapy treatments almost 20 years ago. She
excitedly claimed that it had really helped her and she had been meaning to thank me for years.
It made me go back and review why ginger had been so effective for nausea and was shocked
to find even more benefits for taking this excellent product.
As mentioned Ginger is very effective in treating nausea and motion sickness. It is also very
effective in treating morning sickness in pregnant women, nausea in post-surgery patients, and
chemotherapy patients as well. Ginger has the ability to stop inflammation and is a strong antioxidant. A lot of chronic diseases are caused by or worsened by both inflammation and oxidation. The fact that Ginger
can block inflammation and oxidation makes it a very valuable supplement in treating these
chronic diseases. Let’s look at a few.
The anti-inflammatory effect of Ginger helps reduce pain and joint inflammation in patients with Arthritis. This helps to improve movement in these arthritic people. The powerful compounds in Ginger have anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor effects on human and cancer cells. Ginger is not only effective as an anti-cancer supplement, but as mentioned, also reduces nausea from chemotherapy.
The compounds found in Ginger with their anti-inflammatory effect also help in inhibiting
and preventing Alzheimer’s disease. Ginger has been shown in studies to have a positive effect
on mental abilities in healthy people.
Ginger has been shown to have a positive effect on preventing and treating diabetes and
heart disease and strokes. For diabetes ginger was found to reduce fasting glucose and insulin
resistance. For heart disease Ginger has been shown to reduce arterial plaque, reduce
triglycerides, and reduce the bad LDL cholesterol.
With all of these benefits I make sure I take Ginger every day. Shouldn’t you?
